Project Overview

CNC Robotics Ltd designs and builds robotic cells. They asked us to make a batch of heavy-duty steel fixture tables, with a hole pattern across the top for clamping and their company name cut into the side panels.

The Challenge

A fixture table is only useful if the top stays flat and the holes line up. Welding a lot of plate together puts heat into the steel, and heat makes steel move. Every table in the batch also had to match the others, so they could be swapped or set up side by side.

Our Approach

We cut the top, side panels and internal ribs on our CNC cutting kit, with the CNC Robotics name cut straight into the side panels at the same time. The ribs slot together in a grid under the top, which makes the table stiff and holds it
