Intricate Frames for an Automation Company

Detailed fabricated frames, built accurately so the client's machinery fits first time.

Project Overview

An automation company asked us to make a set of intricate frames for their equipment. Frames like these are the base that motors, guards, sensors and moving parts are fixed to, so the whole machine depends on them being right.

The Challenge

Automation kit is built to tight tolerances. If a frame is out of square or a mounting point is in the wrong place, parts won't line up and the client loses time on the build. These frames also had a lot of detail, with many joints and fixing points to get right.

Our Approach

We worked from the client's drawings and set out each frame carefully before welding. Joints were tacked and checked for square, then welded in a controlled order to keep distortion down and the frame true.

Every fixing point was checked against the drawing before the frames left our workshop, so the client's team could start fitting their kit straight away.
