We fabricate structural steelwork at our workshop in Little Hulton, Manchester, and install it on sites across the North West and the rest of the UK. Beams, columns, portal frames, stair cores, platforms and full structural packages, all CE marked and compliant with BS EN 1090.
Most of what we do arrives as a set of drawings from a structural engineer, and the job is to turn it into steel that fits the building on the day. That means measuring before we cut, detailing properly, and thinking about how a section is going to get through a doorway and up three floors before we weld it into one piece
BS EN 1090 governs the fabrication of structural steelwork in the UK, and CE marking against it is a legal requirement for structural components. We hold it, and it applies to our secondary steelwork, mezzanines and frames as well as primary beams and columns.
What the standard covers
Qualified and documented for the material and joint.
Coded welders, tested and certified to the procedure.
Every section traceable back to its mill certificate.
The paperwork follows the steel and arrives with it.
In practice it means the steel arrives with documentation your building control officer and your structural engineer will accept without a conversation.
Ask a fabricator whether they are 1090 compliant before you ask them for a price. It is the question that separates the field.
Four ways, and you can start at any of them.
Detailing, cutting, welding, finishing and installation. No subcontracted fabrication, so no gap between what was drawn and what turns up.
Decades of combined experience in structural steelwork across commercial, industrial and bespoke builds, in a workshop set up in 2023 around modern kit.
We survey first. We think about access, sequencing and what the erection team will actually be standing on.
The people who welded it are the people who fit it, which is why problems on site get solved rather than reported.
If it needs a structural frame, an opening reinforced or a floor put in above another floor, it is work we do.
Yes, and that is how most jobs come to us. We detail from the design, send the fabrication drawings back for approval, and cut nothing until they are signed off.
Yes. Plenty of contractors have their own erection teams and just need steel that fits. We will fabricate and deliver to your programme.
It means the steelwork comes with documentation proving the welding procedures, welder qualifications and material traceability meet the standard. Building control will ask for it. Steel without it can hold up sign-off.
The workshop is in Manchester and most work is across the North West, but we install nationwide and regularly work further afield.
Yes. A lot of our structural work is into existing buildings, which means phased installation, out-of-hours work and sequencing around other trades.
