We fabricate aluminium at our workshop in Little Hulton, Manchester. Access platforms and stairs, machine frames and housings, guarding, brackets, cladding and one-off components, cut and welded in house.
Aluminium is chosen for a reason on most jobs, usually weight or corrosion. A platform in aluminium can be carried up a stairwell by two people and lifted into place without a crane, and an external frame will not need repainting in five years. It also welds differently to steel, needs different filler and different heat control, and does not forgive guesswork.
When weight matters, when corrosion resistance matters, or when the finished piece has to be moved or handled regularly.
When loads are high relative to section size, or where the piece will be knocked about, because aluminium marks and deforms more readily than steel.
We will tell you if steel is the better answer, even though it is not what you asked for.
Yes, in house. It needs different technique, filler and heat control, which is why plenty of steel fabricators send it out and we do not.
Often, yes, and that is a common reason people call. Send us the existing item or a drawing and we will look at whether aluminium works structurally.
Finishing is arranged as part of the package. Tell us the environment and the appearance you need.
Yes. Send the drawing or the file and we will confirm what is achievable.
