Aluminium Fabrication, in Manchester

We fabricate aluminium at our workshop in Little Hulton, Manchester. Access platforms and stairs, machine frames and housings, guarding, brackets, cladding and one-off components, cut and welded in house.

Aluminium is chosen for a reason on most jobs, usually weight or corrosion. A platform in aluminium can be carried up a stairwell by two people and lifted into place without a crane, and an external frame will not need repainting in five years. It also welds differently to steel, needs different filler and different heat control, and does not forgive guesswork.

What we fabricate in aluminium

  • Access platforms, walkways and stairs
  • Frames and housings for machinery, ductwork and plant
  • Protective guards, panels and barriers
  • Brackets and support structures to your drawing
  • External cladding, covers and weatherproof enclosures
  • Custom components, CNC cut and welded
  • Bent tube frames and rails, up to 76 mm

Why aluminium, and when not

Worth choosing

When weight matters, when corrosion resistance matters, or when the finished piece has to be moved or handled regularly.

Worth thinking twice about

When loads are high relative to section size, or where the piece will be knocked about, because aluminium marks and deforms more readily than steel.

We will tell you if steel is the better answer, even though it is not what you asked for.

Common questions

Can you weld aluminium as well as steel?

Yes, in house. It needs different technique, filler and heat control, which is why plenty of steel fabricators send it out and we do not.

Can you make something lighter than the steel version we have now?

Often, yes, and that is a common reason people call. Send us the existing item or a drawing and we will look at whether aluminium works structurally.

Do you anodise or powder coat?

Finishing is arranged as part of the package. Tell us the environment and the appearance you need.

Can you CNC cut to our drawing?

Yes. Send the drawing or the file and we will confirm what is achievable.
